Instagrammable nature in Bragança to visit in winter

Portugal’s most northeastern city. If you’re looking to combine landscapes, people, food (and some cold), Bragança may be the city to add to your winter itinerary.
Going a few miles may be worth it, and we will show you in this article the places that will make you leave the coziness of your home.

National Road 103:
Stretches 260km and connects Bragança and Neiva (Viana do Castelo). This road will show all its splendor both in the fall, with the changing color of the leaves, and in the winter, if luck is on your side, and you find a blanket of snow. The N308 is also worthy of a visit, as it cuts through the Montesinho Natural Park and shows the most beautiful things Bragança has to offer.

Montesinho Natural Park:
At the gates of the city of Bragança, you will find the extensive green patch of the Montesinho Natural Park, one of the largest protected natural areas in Portugal. An encounter with wild nature where there will be no shortage of wonderful waterfalls and river beaches to enjoy and photograph.

Rio de Onor:
Distinguished as one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal-Villages, this village inserted in the Natural Park of Montesinho is crossed by an invisible line of the border between Portugal and Spain. You can take pictures next to the typical schist houses.

Gimonde:
If you are looking for instagrammable places, Gimonde is a must stop. The charm of the rural world to which you will not be indifferent and where you will also find the narrow stone streets and the typical xisto houses that complement them.
The village is crossed by the Rio de Onor and the Rio Sabor, which required the construction of two bridges, the oldest of schist and the most recent of granite. In the Rio de Onor Park there is another passage to the other side of the river, this time to jump over the polders. Stay in the center of the polders and you will see the magnificent record you will have.

Already inside the city of Bragança we discover the green corridor, the walkways that follow the Fervença River and lead to the Bragança Living Science Center, the Silk House, the Nossa Senhora da Piedade Chapel belvedere, the green and splendid Urban Park.
