Bragança once again welcomed the initiative Christmas and Dreams
The animation will be mainly concentrated in Camões Square, during the month of December, where Santa Claus will settle camp after his usual arrival at Praça Cavaleiro de Ferreira and parade to the historic center of brigantino.
It is already tomorrow that the district capital is turned into “Bragança-Natal and Dream Land”.
The initiative changes the dynamics in the city, which this year has several new features, from a fun track, the Christmas market, as the mayor of Bragança, Hernâni Dias tells us: “this year as news we have the Fun Track so that people have the opportunity to skate and can do it even outside, without coverage. We also have the Christmas market, the presence of the home of the father and the bank in the square that will be organized in the Square in the Sé, over the several Saturdays of the date of the event.
Another novelty will be the exhibition of Legos, in the Municipal Market. The initiative continues with the solidarity aspect, reverting the revenues to the volunteer firefighters of Bragança and Izeda: “we also continue with the solitary aspect in this initiative, with many activities, so that we contribute to help the most needy, through institutions or in a particular way “.
With this initiative, the number of overnight stays increased 124% in the month of December 2017, in the same period of 2016, as the mayor says.
“The number of guests grew by 120 percent, we had an average of almost 600 skaters a day, there were 17,632 users of the track and more than 70 thousand people passed through Camões Square. It was a substantial increase over the previous year, which shows that the event continues to grow, and that is the goal as well. It is to have more and more people and to make the economic dynamization of our city. ”
The budget is 198 thousand euros. Tomorrow, Father Christmas will return on his sleigh, at Cavaleiro Ferreira Square at 4:30 p.m. The historical center of Bragança welcomes the Christmas and Dreamland until January 6, the day of the kings.
